Largoz (2214 m) East face from Volderberg
Technical difficulty: 3/10

Objective danger: 3/10
Landscape: 5/10

An interesting variation on a classic pleasure tour close to Wattens through the East face of Largoz.
Starting point: Parking at Krepperhütte
Ending point: Parking at Krepperhütte
Ascend: 900vm / 2h
Exposition: East/North-East
This is a more interesting variation on an easy pleasure tour can be ideally undertaken throughout the entire winter. Even under less favorable conditions and increased avalanche risk, the summit can be safely reached with smart route selection and skied through the normal way. It offers fantastic views into the Inn Valley and deep into the Tux Alps. You can pick between safe or more adventures way of skiing down.
Route:
From the Krepperhütte parking lot, head left eastward along the toboggan run access path. After about 400 meters, turn right into the forest at a fork in the road, marked by a tree with a conspicuous red arrow. From here, cross the forest road several times to easily reach the open alpine meadows of the Largozalm.
Alternatively, you can comfortably walk along the forest road and along the toboggan run all the way until Largozalm as well.
Then ascend further across more through an alpine pasture, veer slightly right to reach a broad ridge near a small cross. The path leads in a south-easterly direction over this ridge, through hollows and over short steep sections, easily to the summit of Largoz (2214 m).
Descend:
The normal way of descend copies the ascend route down through Largoz alm. If the conditions are good and you are up for some more tree skiing, you can try the East face variation highlighted in the track above.
We start down the east face either from the summit cross or from a secondary higher summit few meters behind Largoz. The first 100 meters or so are really steep with low exposition. After that, we get to a small bowl and eventually to a relatively flat area skiing out parallel to the north ridge of Largoz. At the end of the ridge we connect to a forest and continue west for a little while until we reach an meadow in between forest heading further north through the trees.
Eventually we get to a forest road and turn left. For a little bit it gets very flat and almost uphill before starting down again and eventually connecting again to the toboggan run leading back to the parking lot.
