A great option for a relatively low-exposure glacier adventure in the alpin terrain of Sellrain. Lüsener Spitze is a beautiful tour in large open spaces.

The Lüsener Spitze is located in the Stubai Alps in the Lüsens touring area. As the lesser-known sibling of the Lüsener Fernerkogel, it remains unjustly overshadowed and less visited. Most often, both peaks are climbed in one go. Magnificent ski slopes lead from the summit down to the Lüsener Ferner glacier. Also, the summit is somewhat easier to reach, and it's possible to go up to the summit cross with skis.

Route:

From Lüsens heading south, with the Lüsener Fernerkogel always in view, towards the end of the valley. Ascend between two gorge streams, partly over very steep and rocky terrain towards the Lüsener Ferner glacier - the second part is well-graded and easier to navigate. The glacier tongue reached here is also very steep at the beginning. It leads to the flat glacier floor, which is reached at an elevation of 2820 m. Now turn west and ascend quite flatly along, until reaching an elevation of 3000 m.

Here, leave the ascent track to the Fernkogel and keep left towards the magnificent steep slope east of the Lüsener Spitze, ascending to a terrain shoulder on the upper part.

Through a short high valley to the northwest and finally over a short steep slope to the right, heading northward without difficulty to the Lüsener Spitze (3231m).

Descend:

Same as ascend.
