Route:
Our adventure begins just before the Gasthof Hanneburger, where we take a forest road. This path leads us gently up through wide curves and several switchbacks. For those who want to skip the first flat part of the trail, a shortcut through open meadows right after the Gasthof connects directly to the forest road. This detour offers beautiful views and saves some time.
At around 1600 meters, we reach the open alpine meadows of Pofersalm. Here, the landscape opens up, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Continuing eastward, we pass a small alpine hut, traverse a wide clearing, and walk through a sparsely wooded pine forest until reaching Poferer Hochleger. The final ascent takes us through ideal ski terrain on the northwest ridge that stretches from Sagspitze to Hirzer. The climb is moderate and offers stunning panoramic views.
Upon reaching the summit, we are greeted with a spectacular panorama. A small summit plateau with a cross invites us for a well-deserved rest. We return using the same route as the ascent.
