Rosslaufspitze (2248m) round from Innerst

Technical difficulty: 4/10

Objective danger: 2/10
Landscape: 6/10
Busy: 7/10

I relatively easy and safe skimo tour from Innerst, Roßlaufspitze is a good alternative for sketchier conditions or for people getting into backcountry skiing.

Starting point: Parking in Innerst
Ending point: Parking in Innerst
Ascend:
1100vm / 3h
Exposition:
North/ North-east

The Roßlaufspitze is a bit less busy alternative to a much more popular ski tour to Hoher Kopf. It provides a relatively safe terrain, gentle ascent and great views towards Inn Valley, as well as the surrounding moutains.

Route:
From the toll parking lot in Innerst, pass the Gasthof Innerst and head eastwards down to the Nurpensbach. Cross the bridge and ascend to the toboggan run. Cross this and follow the signposted shortcut through a wooded area upwards until you merge back onto the toboggan run. Travel one kilometer along the toboggan run southwards into the valley and at a signposted junction, turn left through a wooded area, ascending diagonally to the open alpine meadows below the Hochsinnalm.

Diagonally upwards to the first alpine settlement Hochsinnalm at 1600 m. Pass between the alpine buildings, at the signpost briefly follow a ditch and immediately turn left upwards over a ridge. Continue up the slope directly to the summit, with Fiderissalm (1744 m) and the route to Hoher Kopf visible little bit to your right. Eventually reach the small summit cross of Roßlaufspitze (2248m).

Descend:

You can follow the ascent route.

A lot more interesting option is to ski down the N/NO face towards Lower Nurpensalm. Due to the predominantly northeast-facing orientation of the long slopes, good powder snow is preserved here for a long time. Eventually you will connect to a forrest road leading back to Innerst.
