The Silleskogel is located to the east of the somewhat more famous and frequently visited Vennspitze in the Tux Alps. This beautiful ski tour starts with a short steep wooded section and then continues over very nice slopes to the exceptionally scenic summit. It offers particularly beautiful views of the Olperer, Schrammacher, and Kraxentrager in the Zillertal Alps.

Route:
Head southeast on the forest road and shortly after crossing a stream, turn right onto the summer path to the Sillalm (1637 m) - you can also get here comfortably along the forest road. Above the alpine hut, ascend through a wide ditch into the vast basin of the Roßgrube. In the middle of the Roßgrube, head upwards, and at the end, keep left towards the saddle between Geierschnabel and Silleskogel (2418m). A few more meters to the right along the narrow ridge to the rocks of the summit structure. Here, leave your skis and usually walk the last few meters to the summit itself.

Descend:

Same as the ascent, or take the skis to the summit and continue a short distance along the ridge towards Roßgrubenkofel. Then ski directly down the steep north slopes into the Roßgrube - but the conditions must be optimal for this!
